Ever look at Sunday morning news opinion programs?  Any Sunday morning the major television networks feature dozens of highly-paid com-
mentators giving complex analyses of the week's political, economic and even social events.  Unfortunately these analyses rarely include even
a basic understanding on the relevance of historic events on our current situation.  Even a cursory review of recent history proves that no
contemporary event is disconnected from our history.  The World History section of the Ma'at Institute for Holistic Education is structured to give
scholars a comprehensive understanding of history in order to assist communities with the process of practical, historically-based decision-
making.  We must look backward in order to move forward.

This section focuses primarily on Ancient African history, but will also feature the ancient and contemporary history of other pertinent regions
as well.

Here is a listing of some of the course offerings:

There are few topics which captivate people worldwide, regardless of age, ethnicity, language, or continent
of origin.  Ancient Egypt stands virtually alone in this regard, however, very few of us have a working
knowledge of this nation which gave civilization to the world.

Taught on the level of an introductory college course,
3 Millennia of Excellence will not only acquaint
scholars with virtually all of Kemetic history, but it will serve as a fine entry point for those who are
interested in further study or even the practice of Kemetic spirituality.  The course is structured according
to the major periods (Old, Middle and New Kingdoms) and the intervening Intermediate Periods. We will
paint an intimate portrait of the Ancient Africans who created one of the world's earliest and most important
nations.

In order to allow scholars to take this course regardless of geographic location, each class will be taught at
a location in Harlem, New York and webcast live on our website.  Classes will run approximately 1 hour.
Participants may choose to audit the course (attend lectures without expectation of submitting exams or
assignments), but they will not receive a certificate upon completion.

Ancient Nubia: Mother of Civilization
Thursdays, Beginning February 2013, 8 PM EST (5 weekly sessions)
Instructor:  Jabari Osaze, Heru DjedenMa'at Aten-Ra

Ta-Seti, Kush, Ethiopia.  Known by many names, Nubia is still unknown by virtually everyone except African
historians. In fact even those with more than a passing familiarity with Nubia view it entirely through the
eyes of its powerful northern neighbor, Kemet.  Most would be surprised to hear that Nubia is the source of
the world's oldest monarchy and it is Nubia which probably gives birth to Kemet.

Taught on the level of an introductory college course,
Ancient Nubia will provide Institute scholars with a
working knowledge of Nubian history.  The course will focus on three areas: prehistoric Nubia, Nubia
during Kemetic dominance, and also the great Nubian kingdoms (Kerma, Kush, and Meroe).
